David Houston

Freelance actor and artistic director ‘Drama Impact’.

Trained at ‘London Centre For Theatre Studies’ and has performed in theatres national and international for over twenty five years. David has featured in a number of film and television programmes as well as tv commercials. Most recently, ’Taboo’ playing the East India Sea Captain alongside Tom Hardy for BBC and FX America.

In secondary education David has written, devised, directed and performed in hundreds of plays/novels and interactive workshops to thousands of students throughout the UK and internationally. David has been teaching and training students for many years in Drama, GCSE English and LAMDA examination.

He has worked in corporate training in personal/team development and role play with such clients as Welwyn and Hatfield NHS, Federation of small Businesses Blackpool amongst others.  David also worked in retail and retail management for many years.

In July he appeared as ‘Macbeth’ at the ‘Alhambra Theatre’, Bradford and shared the stage with Professor Judith Buchanan of the University of York.  In November David will appear at ‘The Prince’s Teaching Institute’ central London as a guest speaker talking on the subject of bringing modern drama and GCSE English texts to life for secondary English teachers.

For stage and television acting David is represented by Jessica Jones at ‘Global Artists’ London.

David’s has spent time in Mumbai, in Canada with Cree indians, and in Cusco, Peru with Shamans.
