Romeo & Juliet
Using minimum sets and props, including weaponry of the period and Elizabethan costume, we have found that combining the interactive workshop with the performance of key scenes from the play works very well in schools. Students are invited to interact with our professional actors in a variety of scenes throughout the session.
After a number of key scenes are performed in continuity, we cut the action to discuss relevant characters, plot, imagery, language to gain clear insights and the understanding necessary for cultural appreciation and examination success.
Students are also invited to stage a short performance of the ball scene to perform back to the main group.
As with all of our performances and workshops, we guarantee that students will be fully engaged.
We can learn so much from each character and the dramatic circumstances they experience, and how their actions have lasting consequences.
We have no choice, we must choose what to do with our lives. (John Lawson)
